BENNETT STREET RAILWAY RESERVE

Public BBQ

Bennett Street Railway Reserve sits at the heart of Longwarry, a country town park that punches above its weight. The covered BBQ area and tables anchor a space that includes an RSL cenotaph with rose garden, a fully fenced playground (crucial given its proximity to the train line), and a basketball court. The playground equipment is notably recent, offering ample space for children to burn energy while dogs stretch their legs across the expansive grounds. What transforms this reserve is the Longwarry & District Fire Brigade Market, held the first Sunday of each month. The market draws crowds with homemade goods, fresh produce, and free-range eggs, supporting the local brigade. Location proves convenient for road-trippers, with the local pub, IGA, bakery, and butcher directly across the street.
